Beggars and people with special needs gathered at the gate of a luxurious mansion that looked like it belonged to foreigners. One glance at the house and you could tell that wealth resided there.
Some young men emerged carrying take-away bags, approaching the beggars with evident cheerfulness on their faces.
Seeing how these young men distributed the food and drinks, you could tell they had been doing this for a long time. They wore green shirts with "Sabeel" written on them and black jeans.
The bags they were distributing also had "Sabeel" written on them and contained nutritious food and large pieces of chicken, along with bottled water and juice.
Despite the large crowd, everyone got food. Some passersby even stopped to take some. Even rickshaw drivers parked to collect their share.
The owner of the house received many prayers from the people. An elderly woman who was given one package jumped up and said she wouldn't accept just one; she needed three for herself and her grandchildren. They gave her two more bags, and she showered them with prayers.
After finishing the distribution, the young men went back through the first gate to the large kitchen prepared for such occasions. A stout woman, who appeared very energetic, handed out large bags to all the male distributors and the women who cooked. She then took out an envelope with each worker's name on it and began calling out their names, giving them the envelopes and saying, "Here's Hajiya's bonus for today, an amazing addition."
Immediately, some began opening their envelopes, counting the money, and praying for Hajiya’s continued prosperity.
One of the women who had cooked turned to the stout woman and said, "Atine, you should take us to see Hajiya so we can thank her for this unexpected bonus."
