**Who is President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu?**

Senator of Lagos West in 1993, Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023, traditional leader holding the title of Asiwaju of Lagos State, as well as the Jagaban Borgu of the Borgu Kingdom in Niger State, Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu was born on May 29, 1952, in Lagos State.

Alhaji Bola Tinubu attended primary school at St. John’s Primary School in Aroloya, Lagos, and also at Children’s Home School in Ibadan. He then traveled to the United States in 1975 where he continued his education at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago and later at the University of Chicago, where he studied Accounting, graduating in 1979.

Tinubu worked with several companies in the United States, including Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, and GTE Services Corporation. He returned to Nigeria in 1983 and joined Mobil Oil Nigeria, where he later became the head of the company.

In 1992, he became involved in Nigerian politics under the Social Democratic Party (SDP). After struggles and rising through the political ranks, Tinubu succeeded in becoming the Governor of Lagos State in 1999 under the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party. He won re-election for a second term in 2003, alongside his deputy, Femi Pedro. They served until May 29, 2007, when Babatunde Fashola succeeded him. At the time, Fashola was the Chief of Staff in Tinubu's government. 

Currently, Tinubu is the President of Nigeria, having been elected in 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
